Starting this Friday, you’ll be able to listen to Radio Free Montclair on the go, through the free Montclair Local app.
To date the streaming station’s programming has been centered around selected broadcast weekends, but starting this week, it’ll be streaming every Friday, beginning at 5 p.m.
To listen, visit radiofreemontclair.org, or install the free Montclair Local app on your iOS or Android Smartphone. On the app, hit “Radio Free Montclair” in the menu to be taken to the player. The broadcast keeps playing in the background — so you can switch away to other apps and keep listening. Montclair Local will also send your phone push alerts (which you can optionally disable) at the start of programming each Friday night.
Included in this weekend’s lineup is the most recent episode of “Our Montclair,” about jazz history, Black culture in Montclair and the anniversary of DLV Lounge. “Our Montclair,” hosted and produced by Shane Paul Neil, is Montclair Local’s podcast, video and story series, focusing on the art, activism, culture and lived experience of the Montclair community. The podcast edition was provided to Radio Free Montclair, and will be paired with a live set from the DLV as part of “Jazz on the Avenue.”
Search “Montclair Local” in the app store on your Apple or Android phone or tablet. It should come up right at the top. You can also click through the link on our website — at MontclairLocal.news/app — to be taken right to the store pages. The app is, and will always be, free.
