Name: Carissa Borraggine

Where do you live? Montclair Heights section of Clifton. But I’m a Montclairion at heart – I lived there for about 25 yrs, before moving to Clifton.

When did you move there? Three years ago.

Where did you grow up? My father was in the Marine Corps, so we moved around a lot. I was born in NJ, but grew up in Florida, California, Hawaii, Colorado and several other places.

How do you make a living? OR What is your everyday passion? After a long career in the restaurant business, I am now a real estate agent with Compass Realty

Coffee, tea or … ? Tea, but I will treat myself to a cortado now and then 🙂

What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day?  Beach day! But, in the off-season, I have a standing yoga date with a bestie, and then we “loiter” with friends at an outdoor cafe. A bike ride would be icing on the cake!

What’s your favorite local restaurant? For dinner: La Rocca; breakfast/lunch/brunch: The Corner.

What’s on your nightstand? Currently, travel books on Portugal. Getting ready for an upcoming trip!

What are you listening to? I’m not up on any new/current music. I love the classics, in rock, reggae and salsa.

What are your current indulgences? Ice Cream (Apem in Bloomfield is bangin’)!

What talent would you most like to have? I’d be happy if I had the talent for a performance art, like singing, dancing, or mastery of a musical instrument.

What’s the worst-kept (or best-kept!) secret about your town?  I love The Barrow House, on Van Houten. I go there for drinks, and they set up a big tent out back during the summer, which is pretty cool.

What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? I hope it’s less a mourning of my death and more of a celebration of my life – that it was full of friends, family, adventure, and lots of love and laughter! I want a big party, not a somber funeral.
