The Montclair Foundation will host their annual garden tour the first weekend of June. This year, the tour will feature eight private gardens, with most in Montclair and one in Glen Ridge. The gardens range in size and in composition. Some were created entirely by the homeowners and others had help from professional garden designers.
The tour is self-guided and can be done between 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Friday and Saturday so visitors can take their time at each property. Each garden may be visited just once to keep the traffic flow working. Addresses and descriptions of each private garden are in the Tour Journal, which is required for entry and can be picked up at Van Vleck House on Friday or Saturday.
Lisa Mierop, a talented garden designer who has worked on many area properties including Van Vleck Gardens, will give a presentation to kick off the Tour on Friday, June 2nd at 9:30 AM. Seating is limited so early online ticket purchasers will be invited by email to attend.
Tickets can be purchased through this link. Tickets bought online are $40 for members and $50 for the general public. Tickets bought at the door on Friday or Saturday of the Tour will be $10 more. All proceeds of this fundraiser go toward the care of Van Vleck Gardens, a free-to-visit green space open daily from dawn to dusk.
