On Wednesday, July 19, an employee of Urban Chicken on Glenridge Avenue reported the theft of cooking oil from the rear of his business. Two male individuals were observed taking the oil and entering a  tan 2003 GMC Savannah. The driver was described as a male, approximately in their 30s or 40s, muscular build, wearing a skull hat, orange long sleeve shirt and beige Pants.  The passenger was described as a male, approximately twenty years old, wearing a long  sleeve blue hooded sweatshirt, blue shoes, and blue pants. 

 Entered Vehicles 

Tuesday, July 18 to Tuesday, July 25:  Vehicles were entered on Upper Mountain Avenue, Plymouth Street, and Hilltop Place. In most cases, the vehicles were left unlocked. Surveillance in the area of Upper Mountain Avenue revealed individuals wearing masks arrived in an unknown white SUV and rummaged through the vehicle for approximately fifteen seconds. On Hilltop Place, the individuals entered a landscaping truck and removed the workers iPhone, wallet and gold necklace. 

Wednesday, July 19: The CVS on Claremont Avenue reported three teenage females entered the store and began filling their bags with merchandise. All three females fled. One dropped her bag prior to fleeing. CVS estimated that $450 worth of merchandise was stolen.  

Motor Vehicle Crime 

Wednesday, July 19: A 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from Cooper Avenue  during the overnight hours. The vehicle was recovered by the New York Police Department the following day. Two juvenile males from Newark were placed under arrest. 

Arrest 

Sunday, July 23: A 49-year-old male from Fort Lee, NJ was charged with assault stemming from a dispute on Bloomfield Avenue.
