The Montclair Police Department is partnering with local emergency personnel for the annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1 on South Park Street and Church Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Members of The Montclair Police Department, Montclair Fire Department, Montclair Ambulance Unit and the Montclair Animal Shelter will be on hand to speak with individuals and display their equipment. Local shops and vendors from throughout Montclair will also be set up with all sorts of activities and giveaways.
National Night Out is recognized throughout the country as a way for members of the community to come out and spend a safe evening with emergency personnel from their communities. Members of the public will get an opportunity to speak one on one with law enforcement officers from their cities, along with other emergency personnel. First responders will also display the equipment they utilize on a daily basis such as fire trucks and ambulances, allowing residents to get an inside look.
