Vincenzo Pignatiello, owner of a landscaping firm and a longtime employee of Montclair’s water department, died on Aug. 30, 2023. He was 91.
Born in 1932 in Lacedonia, Italy, Mr. Pignatiello came to the United States in 1957 and moved to Verona in 1972. He worked for Montclair’s water department for 35 years.
He owned V. Pignatiello & Son Landscaping.
Mr. Pignatiello is survived by his wife, Antonia Maria (Caggiano) Pignatiello; daughters, Sara Distazio of Verona and MaryJo Zerance (Matt) of Roseland; son, Vincent Jr. (Mary DiBartolo Pignatiello) of Pompton Plains, and grandchildren, Vincent, Danielle, Joey, Zach and Stephen.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Serafina (Bianco) Pignatiello.
Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Caggiano Memorial Home for Funerals, 62 Grove St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Oratory in Montclair, with interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
