
In brief: African American Heritage parade and festival this weekend
The 2019 Grand Marshals of the African American Heritage Parade, set for June 1, are William Scott and Betty Halloway. The parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. at Glenfield Park at Maple and Bloomfield avenues and ends at Nishuane Park. The Montclair African American Heritage Foundation festival follows at 1 p.m.
This year’s ambassadors are James Harris, Marion and Oliver Lake and MHS class of 1969.
A Meet and Greet will be held the night before the parade and festival at George Innes Annex at Montclair High School from 8 to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 31.
