Culture in brief: Benefit at Studio Playhouse

Studio Playhouse will partner with Darren Gage and the New Jersey Arts Collective for a “Broadway Goes to the Movies” event, on July 14, 7:30 p.m., at Studio Playhouse, 14 Alvin Place.

Tickets are $25, and will benefit Studio Players. In addition to Gage’s student performers, Studio Playhouse alumnus and Broadway actor Ben Liebert (“Wicked” on Broadway, international tour of “Grease,” current Broadway “Fiddler on the Roof”) will direct.

Liebert will direct Studio’s fall production of the musical “Into the Woods,” and two members of that cast will perform. The evening will culminate with Broadway actor Danny Zoli (“Jesus Christ, Superstar;” “Evita;” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
