Police Blotter: Jan. 30
Tuesday, Jan. 21—A 30-year-old Irvington man was taken into custody in the vicinity of Greenwood Avenue after police learned that he had a warrant for his arrest.
Thursday, Jan. 23—A 61-year-old Montclair man was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose after he was found to be in possession of a BB rifle and a pipe when police responded to a verbal dispute on Bloomfield Avenue.
Tuesday, Jan. 28—A 30-year-old man was taken into custody on Greenwood Avenue after police learned that he had a warrant for his arrest.
Wednesday, Jan. 22—An Eagle Rock Way resident reported that he saw a vehicle pull into his neighbor’s driveway. When he went to investigate, as his neighbor was not home, the vehicle, a white-colored Nissan sedan occupied by at least two people, fled the scene. It was discovered that the suspect had gained entry to the residence through a garage window. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.
Thursday, Jan. 23—An Erwin Park resident reported that her vehicle was entered and that the glove box was rummaged through, with the contents strewn about the vehicle. Nothing was reported missing at the time of the report.
Sunday, Jan. 26—A Warren Place resident reported that two individuals entered and attempted to enter multiple vehicles on her property. Nothing was reported missing at the time of the report. The suspects are described only as males with medium builds, wearing dark-colored pants and dark-colored hooded sweatshirts.
Sunday, Jan. 26—A Warren Place resident reported that $40 in cash was stolen from his vehicle.
Wednesday, Jan. 22—A Sherman Street resident reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered and approximately $2 in change was stolen.
Thursday, Jan. 23—A Greenwood Avenue resident states that a package containing approximately $75 in merchandise was stolen from the property’s mail room.
Saturday, Jan. 25—An Elmwood Avenue resident states that a package containing approximately $115 in merchandise was stolen from his property.
Saturday, Jan. 25—An Orange Road resident states that a package containing approximately $700 in merchandise was stolen.
Saturday, Jan. 25—A South Mountain Avenue resident reported that her daughter’s jacket, Air Pods, wallet and $50 were stolen while her daughter attended a dance at the Montclair Art Museum.
Sunday, Jan. 26—A Crescent Parking Deck worker reported that a driver operating a white Chevrolet four-door sedan with a Delaware license plate left the garage without paying the $24 parking fee.
Friday, Jan. 24—Two 11-year-old females reported that while they were walking home from school, they were approached by a minivan in the vicinity of Park Street and Buckingham Road, with the operator asking for directions to Bloomfield Avenue. The juveniles stated that the driver was not wearing pants. After a brief exchange, the male drove north on Park Street. The minivan was reportedly light blue in color with a New Jersey registration a “stick figure” family sticker on the rear window.
Friday, Jan. 24—A Fairfield Street resident reported that “HEY”, “WAVE”, “X”, and an angry emoji face were spray painted on the exterior of the building.
Sunday, Jan. 26—An employee of Coldwell Banker on Bellevue Avenue reported that a portion of the glass door to the rear of the building was shattered.
