A suspected bomb at Acme on Tuesday, Aug. 28, turned out to be a lockbox full of skin care products.
Employees at the grocery store on Valley Road discovered a locked home-style safe placed on the ground near the store's garbage receptacles at around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, Police Lt. David O'Dowd said.

The Montclair police and fire departments responded to the scene. The Essex County Sheriff's Office sent in a K-9 unit and the bomb squad to assist. The store and nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
The safe contained personal hygiene products, believed to be some varieties of skin creams, O'Dowd said.
