Beginning next week, Bloomfield Avenue westbound will be closed and detoured weekdays for utility work at the Bloomfield Avenue Bridge, New Jersey Department of Transportation, officials said.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, until 8:30 p.m., and continuing most days, Monday through Friday, for about six weeks, PSE&G is scheduled to close Bloomfield Avenue westbound for utility work underneath the roadway. Eastbound traffic will be unaffected.

Bloomfield Avenue westbound detour

  • Bloomfield Avenue westbound traffic will be directed to turn right on Highland Avenue
  • Turn left onto Glenridge Avenue
  • Turn left onto Pine Street
  • Turn right onto Bloomfield Avenue westbound

Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.
