Culture in Brief: Watchung musical, Buzz Aldrin concert

Two of Montclair's schools had their performing arts groups perform at the Montclair Board of Education meeting on Jan. 14.

Students from Watchung School performed songs from "The Wizard of Oz," the school's upcoming musical. The show, which will be performed on Jan. 24 and Jan. 25, is directed by Dagmara and Patrick Wilson, with musical direction by music teacher Henry Boote. Watchung School is at 14 Garden St.

Students from Buzz Aldrin Middle School's dance company danced to "I Just Can't Wait To Be King," from "The Lion King." The musical number will be part of the school's upcoming concert. The concert will be on Jan. 17. The students were accompanied by dance teacher Zetta Cool. Buzz Aldrin Middle School is at 173 Bellevue Ave.
