Celebrating Earth Day: Cleanup hike set at Eagle Rock Reservation
In celebration of Earth Day, the League of Women Voters of the Montclair Area is holding its first “We Love Eagle Rock Reservation” program, a cleanup hike to prepare the reservation for the spring and summer seasons, on Saturday, April 23, at 9 a.m.
The community is invited to participate and asked to meet at the 9/11 Memorial.
The League’s partners in the event are the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and the New Jersey chapter of the Sierra Club.

Future “We Love Eagle Rock Reservation” programs will include planting indigenous plants after non-indigenous varieties are removed; waterway and soil remediation; repair of deer enclosures that protect young plants, and nature hikes for trail familiarization.
