I would like to second the “motion” raised by letter writer Daniel Arbelaez that Church Street should be closed to cars. Mr. Arbelaez offered several excellent ideas, but the one I liked best was designating the street a mini pedestrian zone and raising the street level flush with the sidewalk and closing the street off to traffic. There could be more outdoor dining, more benches, etc. I’ve thought this for several years, but it seemed to be such an obvious improvement that I always assumed that the suggestion had already been made and been rejected for some reason. It’s a good idea. So what’s the story, Township Council?
