Councilman Yacobellis to host town hall on Montclair budget and taxes
Councilman at-large Peter Yacobellis will hold the first of a series of virtual town halls on Montclair's municipal budget and taxes Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.
The series is intended to educate and engage the community broadly on Montclair's taxes and budgets, according to an announcement of the event.
"I ran on a platform of transparency and engagement with hopes of improving both when it comes to Montclair residents and their government," Yacobellis said in the announcement. "For the last couple of months, some local leaders and I have been collaborating to develop a very user-friendly presentation to help everyone understand some very basics about our government, their taxes, and our budget."
This first Zoom webinar will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m and will be recorded for future viewing. Interested residents can register on Yacobellis' website, at PeterForMontclair.com.
Yacobellis will be joined by Brigid D'Souza, a resident of Jersey City and assistant professor in the Department of Accountancy & Business Law at Saint Peter's University.
