Montclair Film announced on Monday, Dec. 18, that it has received  grant awards totaling more than $150,000 in recent months from a wide range of philanthropic entities, including the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, The American Express Foundation, the Montclair Foundation and The Blanche & Irving Laurie Foundation, among others.

MF also announced its January 2018 lineup for Cinema505.  “Hidden Gems of 2017” will join new releases and classic films.

The series includes foreign films that were never shown in Montclair, including “BPM (Beats Per Minute),” directed by Robin Campillo, the French submission for the 2018 Academy Awards. January will also feature the new releases “Killing for Love,” directed by Marcus Vetter and Karin Steinberger, and the finale of  “The Mastery of Miyazaki” series, which features the Japanese animation legend’s  classic “Howl’s Moving Castle.”
