
Culture in brief: Open Book/Open Mind to feature Garth Hallberg and Estep Nagy
On Sunday, Jan. 28, 4 p.m., at the Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton Ave., authors Garth Hallberg and Estep Nagy will talk about crafting fiction, as part of the Montclair Public Library & Foundation’s Open Book/Open Mind Series. Both are Montclair residents.
Hallberg is the best-selling author of “City on Fire,” and Nagy is the author of “We Shall Not All Sleep.”
He has a newly released, full-color edition of his first book, "A Field Guide to the North American Family," "City on Fire" was a New York Times and international best-seller, has been translated into seventeen languages, and was named one of the best books of 2015 by The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, and Vogue.
Estep Nagy's first novel "We Shall Not Sleep," about a privileged WASP stronghold on the brink of dis-solution was released to critical acclaim in 2017.
