The annual celebration of St. Peter Claver’s Feast Day and Homecoming will be on Sunday, Sept. 10, beginning with a Mass at 11 a.m. After Mass, the church will provide a meal prepared by parishioners according to the traditions of their countries of origin. All are welcome.

In a release, the church noted that St. Peter Claver has “a unique history — having served minority and immigrant Catholics since the early 1930s. Our parish remains vibrant with a regular schedule of masses in French, Spanish and English on Sundays, during the week and on religious holidays.

“The church offers free religious instruction for students in grade school and middle school, and for adults wanting to join the Catholic faith. And St. Peter Claver partners with groups fighting hunger in Montclair — with donations from our parishioners, our food pantry supplies approximately 700 bags of groceries per year to those in need.”
St. Peter Claver Roman Catholic Church is at 56 Elmwood Ave.
