Culture in brief: Pop-up pets snuggle at Hampton House

Hampton House Galleria, Lick You Silly Pet Products, Fashionable Pets and Artisans Gallery Pop-up host a “cuddle and snuggle puppy” event on Sunday, June 23, 2-4 p.m. at Hampton House Galleria, 467 Bloomfield Ave.

Scientific studies have shown that cuddling a pet helps boost a person’s levels of oxytocin, “the love hormone” while making the person and the pet feel good.

Other key benefits, Artisans Gallery Pop-up writes in a release, include, lowering of the heart rate and reduction of stress. In addition, cuddling puppies has also shown ability to relieve depression, anxiety, sadness and even pain.
