Diane Anglin has been named as the interim education committee chair for the Montclair NAACP.
Anglin was announced as the interim committee chair on Wednesday, Jan. 15. She is the replacement for James Harris, who is on leave from the position for six months.
"Ms. Anglin has been a dedicated member of the Educational Committee, and as the current Chair of the NAACP Youth Council, she is well-positioned to lead the committee. We look forward to her representing the NAACP to the Board of Education and other Montclair organizations to ensure that education is considered an important civil right," Albert Pelham, the president of the Montclair NAACP, said in a statement released Wednesday.
Anglin is a member of the Montclair Community Pre-K Board of Trustees. She has also served as the vice president, and later president, of the Montclair PTA Council. She has a B.S. in psychology from Virginia State University.
