The NJ Transit Montclair-Boonton Line (MOBO) service has been suspended in both directions between Newark Broad Street and Montclair State University (MSU). According to the NJTransit website, the suspension is due to a downed tree in the overhead wires near Glen Ridge.

The NJ Transit MOBO Twitter account (@NJTransit_MOBO) tweeted the announcement today at 11:39 a.m. In the same statement, NJ Transit said that rail tickets and passes are being cross-honored by NJ TRANSIT bus, private carriers and PATH at Hoboken Terminal and 33rd ST-NY.

At 12:53 p.m, the Twitter account shared two images of the fallen tree, which lays atop the overhead wires across the track. In addition to the suspension, NJ Transit shared at 2:30 p.m. that the system-wide rail PA speaker is experiencing technical issues. NJ Transit is working to resolve the issue, according to authorities.

MOBO commuters should seek alternative routes until further notice.
