Edgemont Park bridge closed

Montclair's Edgemont Memorial Park bridge adjacent to the Edgemont Park Shelter House is currently closed due to damage it sustained during Ida.

Damage includes an unsafe incline forming between the bridge’s walking surface and the park paths. The bridge is currently barricaded and closed to pedestrian traffic.

As a temporary measure to allow use of the bridge, asphalt will be put on top of the structure later this fall to eliminate the incline.

A permanent repair to the bridge or, if needed, its replacement is expected to be completed in the spring of 2022.
