Guantánamo Diary: An Evening of Reading and Conversation

April 27, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Due to the success of our previous event, we will revisit Guantanamo Diary, a document of historical importance that formed the basis of an international and ongoing campaign to free Slahi.

Slahi’s attorneys fought for seven years to have the manuscript declassified and cleared for public release, yet some sections remained redacted in the published edition.

Colonel Morris Davis, the lead prosecutor of the Guantanamo trials, will join the book’s editor and Mohamedou’s spokesperson in a conversation moderated by WNYC’s Leonard Lopate at Montclair State University to speak on these issues.

With Deborah Eisenberg, Joshua Ferris, Emily St. John Mandel, D.T. Max,Francine Prose, Elissa Schappell, Wally Shawn, Col. Morris Davis, Nancy Hollander, and Larry Siems, moderated by Leonard Lopate.
