Please join MAM in welcoming Jerry Pinkney, American illustrator of children’s books. He will discuss the decisions leading up to developing a book project, the ways in which he finds his own vision, and how he develops a fuller understanding of his subjects. Jerry Pinkney has been illustrating children’s books since 1964, creating over 100 titles, and has been the recipient of five Caldecott Honor Medals, a Caldecott Medal, and five The New York Times “Best Illustrated Books,” and five Coretta Scott King Awards. His books have been translated into 16 languages and published in 14 countries.
Galleries will be open extended hours for Babson Lecture ticket holders from 5 to 7 p.m. Book signing and reception to follow program.
Professional Development Certificates will be available for educators. The Julia Norton Babson Memorial Lecture is funded, in part, by a generous perpetual gift from the Julia Norton Babson Memorial Fund.
