Music by and for Women

Did you know about women composers of the Baroque?  Probably not, but the all female ensemble SIREN Baroque is trying to change that. Come hear music at Rutgers’ elegant University Club, by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Barbara Strozzi, Lucrezia Orsina Vizzana, and Maria francesca Nascinbeni, as well as music by Antonio Vivaldo, who famously wrote much of his celebrated music while working at an orphanage for girls in Venice.  The concert is FREE and open to the public, and will be followed by a meet the artists reception in the Robeson Gallery.
