New Netherlands and the Dutch Legacy in NJ

Montclair-resident Dr. Firth Fabend, author of several fiction and non-fiction books on the history of the Dutch in New Jersey and New York, will present “New Netherlands and the Dutch Legacy in New Jersey.” The Dutch were responsible for settling Speertown, now Upper Montclair, in the 17th century at the same time the Crane family was settling Cranetown, now Montclair. The program is made possible through Montclair State University with support from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities’ Rising Tide Program. Free admission.
