On Thursday, April 28, Family Promise affiliates in New Jersey — including the Essex County affiliate based at the Central Presbyterian Church in Montclair — will be hosting the organization's third annual Giving Day, a 24-hour online campaign to raise awareness and support for families battling homelessness.

The 14 New Jersey Family Promise Affiliates will come together with the additional 200-plus affiliates across the country to participate in this annual digital awareness event.

This year, Family Promise is asking participants to “give an hour” on Giving Day – whether that is an hour of time volunteering, an hour’s worth of salary as a donation, or an hour spent raising awareness of the three million children who experience homelessness every year in America.

Family Promise of Essex is asking staff to take an hour to write letters of encouragement to their guests. There will additionally be social medical campaigns on InstagramTwitter and Facebook.

The digital campaign will be accompanied by Family Promise’s Night of Giving Virtual Gala – an evening full of special guests, an interactive cocktail mixology class, and an online auction, plus an awards presentation in support of families battling homelessness. Tickets can be purchased here.
