Culture in brief: Luna Stage opens ‘Heartland’
"Heartland," by Gabriel Jason Dean, begins performances at Luna Stage on Saturday, April 6, and runs through Sunday, April 28. Featuring Brian Corrigan, Kareem Badr, and Lipica Shah Luna Stage writes that the show, set in Nebraska and Afghanistan, “explores the uncertain terrain of love, moral responsibility, and what it truly means to care for one another.”
The show is the fourth production of Luna's 2018-2019 season.
It follows a young mathematician from Afghanistan in Omaha, and a woman teaching “The Diary of Anne Frank” to girls in Maidan Shar. "Weaving back and forth through time, 'Heartland' explores the uncertain terrain of love, moral
responsibility, and what it truly means to care for one another, Luna writes in a release.
