In brief: Imbolc and solstice at UUCM
UUCM Sacred Wheel, the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans, is hosting a Imbolc Celebration on Friday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alliance Room of the church, 67 Church St.
They write, “Imbolc or Imbolg, also called Brigid's Day, is a Gaelic traditional festival marking the beginning of spring.
Most commonly it is held on 1 and 2 February, or about halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Historically, it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.”
Nonperishable food donations for the local food pantry are requested. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. UUCM Sacred Wheel is also on Facebook at: facebook.com/groups/UUCMSacredWheel.
