Montclair High School has a familiar face returning as its interim principal.
Terry Trigg-Scales (Ida Trigg-Scales according to district documents) was named as the new interim principal, effective Aug. 1 at a salary of $800 a day, according to a recent BOE personnel report.
She has 38 years experience in the Montclair public schools, serving as assistant superintendent, assistant to the superintendent, principal and teacher. And in 2018, she was named interim principal, filling in while the district looked for a replacement for former principal James Earle.
Trigg-Scales is also a member of the West Orange Board of Education, the CEO and an educational consultant for Terry Trigg-Scales and Associates and the former head of the Essex County Retirees Education Association.
This time, Trigg-Scales replaces Anthony Grosso, as the district searches for a new full-time principal for the high school.
The BOE approved Trigg-Scales’s hiring as part of its personnel report on July 20. The details of the report were released to the public on Wednesday.
Grosso stepped down in June to become the new superintendent of the Cedar Grove school district.
District officials said on Wednesday that they planned to issue a formal announcement about Trigg-Scales on Friday.
