The Montclair Health Department, in partnership with Mountainside Family Practice Group, will provide free lead screenings on Sept. 18 for children ages 1-6 and pregnant women who reside in Montclair, Nutley, Cedar Grove and Verona.

As recently reported in Montclair Local, the number of Montclair children with reported high levels of lead in their system rose from 11 in 2017 to 16 in 2018. Most lead exposure in Montclair occurs due to leaded paint/paint dust in the home, according to Montclair Department Health officials.

The health department will hold two clinics to test possible leaded products on Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring your products in for testing.
