Let’s not forget Mounties’ accomplishments (Letter to the Editor)
By now, many members of the Montclair community are aware of the way the Montclair High School football season came to an end last week. Much has been said and written about the circumstances that led to the cancellation of the team’s playoff game against Ridgewood.
Adding to that discussion is not the point here. What is, is to recognize the accomplishments of this year’s Mountie team – players, coaches, managers, trainers and more.
To the Mounties, especially the seniors who have worn the blue and white for the last time, please know the Montclair community is proud of you. We honor your hard work and dedication. You persevered. Seniors: It has been an honor to watch you play and grow into impressive young men with limitless futures.
We acknowledge, too, the hard work of the cheer squad and band, and we know they share in the disappointment of a season ended too soon.
And finally, thanks to the Montclair community, so many of whom have expressed their support with emails, messages and social media postings. We are grateful.
Mountie football will return next year better than ever.
