The Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence is hosting “Sabor Montclair,” an event to help support MFFE’s Navegadores Escolares program, helping Spanish-speaking families and ESL students. The families in the program have helped design the event, which will feature take-out meals that can be purchased on Oct. 30. A ticket includes a platter for one and is donation-based.
MFFE’s Navegadores Escolares has grown, and the program provides direct support to students and their families, many of them recent immigrants in the country. The students and families face many barriers to education and resources, and MFEE is using that information to spark systemic change in Montclair’s schools and community, the group said in an announcement of the event.
