The Northeast Earth Coalition's annual Monarch Butterfly event will be Sunday, Aug. 15 from from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

A group of Monarch Butterfly enthusiasts will meet at Crane Park to discuss how you can help the Monarch declining population, the importance of pollinators and the Monarch migration.

There will be environmental groups, tabling opportunities, live music and dancing. Among the groups participating are the NJ Native Plant Society, Wassesing Park Conservancy, 350.org and the NEEC. The rock band Forget the Whale will be performing at the park as well as Audie and The Daughters of HetHaru Egyptian Belly Dancing Group.

Trina Paulus, Montclair's "Butterfly Lady," will once again join the event for her annual butterfly release, and will be celebrating her 90th birthday. Members of 350.org, the Wassesing Park Conservancy and the NEEC will release butterflies as well.
