News in brief: Montclair firefighters graduate from fire academy

The Montclair Fire Department’s five probationary firefighters spent the past 10 weeks at the Morris County Fire Academy, where they received all training and certifications required to be firefighters in the State of New Jersey. Ryan Verney, Zachary Lynch, Natasha Richardson, Michael DeSomma, and Brandonn Young successfully completed all fire academy requirements.

The new recruits will have to successfully complete a probationary year before being sworn-in as full-fledged firefighters.
