In brief: Montclair Literary Festival presents Colum McCann
In a pre-festival event for Succeed2gether's Montclair Literary Festival, Colum McCann, National Book Award–winning and bestselling author of “Let the Great World Spin,” will discuss his new book, “Apeirogon,” in conversation with New York Times bestselling author and Montclair resident Garth Risk Hallberg.
The event will be on Thursday, March 12, 7 p.m., at St James' Episcopal Church, 581 Valley Road. The book is about Bassam Aramin, who is Palestinian, and Rami Elhanan, who is Israeli. Both men have lost children due to violence. It is based on a true story, after McCann met the two men, and began the novel with their blessings, including their recollections and memories. The book’s title is the name for a shape with a countably infinite number of sides.
