
Montclair Police Blotter, Sept. 5
ROBBERY
Thursday, Aug. 29—A pedestrian reported that while walking east on Glenridge Avenue in the area of Baldwin Street, a white sedan with New Jersey plates pulled alongside of him. A male exited the front passenger seat and grabbed the pedestrian’s rolling duffel bag before getting back in the car and fleeing east on Glenridge Avenue. The duffel bag contained clothing and a laptop computer.
BURGLARY/THEFT
Saturday, Aug. 31—A wallet containing credit cards and $50 cash was removed from an unlocked vehicle parked in an Orange Road driveway.
Sunday, Sept. 1—A blue and orange large frame Giant Sedona DX Disc bicycle, valued at $510, was stolen from a residence on North Fullerton Avenue. The bicycle was reportedly locked to a fence.
Monday, Sept.2—A resident of Gates Avenue reported that her vehicle was entered sometime between Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sept. 2. The vehicle was left unlocked. The center console and glove compartment were rummaged through. Missing at this time are phone cords and chargers.
Monday, Sept. 2—A 2000 Mercedes Benz E20 parked in a driveway on Willard Place was stolen during the overnight hours. The vehicle was unlocked and contained the keys. The vehicle was recovered several hours later, parked and unoccupied, in Newark.
Monday, Sept. 2—An unlocked vehicle on Willard Place was entered during the overnight hours. The vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing was reported missing.
Monday, Sept. 2—An unlocked vehicle on Elmwood Avenue was entered during the overnight hours. The vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing was reported missing.
Monday, Sept. 2—An unlocked Honda Civic parked in the rear of a Glenridge Avenue address was entered during the overnight hours. A zipper bag, containing coins and dollar bills, was removed.
ARRESTS
Wednesday, Aug. 28—A 27-year-old West Orange resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Park Street.
Wednesday, Aug. 28—A 21-year-old Montclair man was arrested on open warrants out of Elmwood Park, Clifton, West Orange and Linden. In addition, a second 21-year-old Montclair man was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and an open warrant out of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.
Saturday, Aug. 31—A 40-year-old man from Cedar Grove was arrested on Bloomfield Avenue and charged with shoplifting.
Saturday, Aug. 31—A 55-year-old Montclair resident was arrested on Orange Road on open warrants out of Union Township.
Saturday, Aug. 31—A 24-year-old from Montclair was arrested on an open warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department following a motor vehicle stop on Chestnut Street.
Saturday, Sept. 1—A 36-year-old South Carolina resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Walnut Street.
