
In brief: Richard Thompson plays NJPAC
Richard Thompson, the English guitarist, singer and songwriter who came to prominence with ’60s British folk-rock Fairport Convention, will play the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Friday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m.

Thompson, who now lives in Montclair, is the recipient of the OBE from Queen Elizabeth, Thompson’s music has been covered by Don Henley, REM, David Byrne and many others. Recently he had a 70th birthday bash at London’s Royal Albert Hall, with Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and Loudon Wainwright III, among others.
