Katherine Irene Colonna (née Mulvey), 96, of Clifton, died on June 12, 2017, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Montclair, where her family had a presence for over 130 years. It is here where she raised her eight children before relocating to Clifton 38 years ago.

The visitation will take place on Friday, June 16,  from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hugh Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park St., Montclair. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church,  30 North Fullerton Ave., Montclair, on Saturday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m.

Mrs. Colonna was predeceased by her husband, Michael Thomas Colonna, and by her son-in-law Jack Kennedy. She is survived by her children, Marie Kennedy, Anita Capillo, Kathleen (Peter) Chartier, Michele Baird, Michael (Karen) Colonna, Paul (Brenda) Colonna, Christine (Kevin) Brancato, and Frances (Ron) Orthwein. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Colonna was a devoted mother and loving wife known for her faith, selflessness and a sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but always found time to help others through many volunteer organizations. She was a lifelong member, volunteer and supporter of Immaculate Conception Church in Montclair.
