Montclair resident Douglas B. Bauer has been elected to serve as Partners for Health's 2022-2023 board chair.

Partners for Health invests in programs, policies and organizations that lead to healthy communities and increased opportunities to thrive, the group said in an announcement of the election. Grants are eligible to organizations that provide direct service in the Montclair area in Essex County, New Jersey, and in Clifton and Little Falls in Passaic County.

“I look forward to working with the Partners for Health Board, staff and our grantee partners over the next two years as we further explore the social determinants of health in our communities and help them achieve equity in the delivery of health and social services,” Bauer said in the announcement.

Bauer has been a Partners for Health trustee since 2014, and most recently served as the Foundation’s second vice chair and Nominating Committee chair, according to the announcement. He is the executive director of The Clark Foundation, which focuses on helping people out of poverty and assisting individuals to lead independent and productive lives. Bauer is also executive director of The Scriven and Fernleigh Foundations and senior vice president with The Clark Estates, Inc.

Bauer lives in Montclair with his wife, Alison, and two sons, Nate and Jeremiah.
