
Montclair schools to have delayed opening on Tuesday
Montclair Public Schools will have a delayed opening on Tuesday, Feb. 28, because because of a predicted storm, which may bring rain and snow, the school district announced Monday evening.
School bus pickups will be delayed by two hours, the district said.
In addition, the YMCA morning care program will have a two-hour delay, opening in all elementary schools at 9:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service is predicting rain, snow and sleet before 1 p.m. in Essex County. Between 1 and 4 p.m. there is a chance of rain and snow. Wind gust could reach 20 miles an hour.
The Weather Service says the chance of precipitation is 80%. Accumulation of new snow and sleet is expected to be less than one inch.
