An SUV struck a car at the corner of Porter Place and Harrison Avenue Friday afternoon, with the Montclair Fire Department using the jaws of life to remove passengers from one vehicle.

At 1:30 p.m. officials still had traffic closed off on Harrison by Porter Park after the crash, which involved a black Range Rover and a black Honda Accord. No serious injuries were reported.

A 33-year-old Montclair man was heading west on Porter Place in the Range Rover when he struck the Honda, which was traveling north on Harrison, according to Montclair Police Detective Lt. David O'Dowd.

Firefighters had to cut off the Honda's front right passenger-side door to extricate the occupants, a 36-year-old West Orange woman who was driving and three passengers. The door of the car was seen lying on the grass in Porter Park, and the Honda was towed away.

The Honda's occupants complained that they were in pain and were transported to area hospitals, O'Dowd said. The Range Rover's driver wasn't hurt.
