The Montclair Township has announced that free bagged ice and charging stations are once again available to residents in the Municipal Building parking lot until 4:00 p.m. today, Monday, August 10. The building is located at 205 Claremont Avenue, with the parking lot located behind the structure.

Residents must bring their own coolers or containers for ice.

Anyone who visits the municipal building parking lot to make use of these services must wear masks and observe required social distancing to ensure the health and safety of all involved.

In addition, both the Montclair Public Library and the Montclair Art Museum continue to set up space for people to charge their phones and other devices for those who are still without power after Tropical Storm Isaias.

For the library, Wi-Fi and device charging are both available. Residents can access the WiFi by sitting on one of the benches outside the caution tape on the Plaza or at a table outside the cafe area. They may also sit on the grass. There is a charging station for devices.

For MAM WiFi and charging outlets are available under the tent in front of the side entrance between the hours of 9 AM–4 PM. The WiFi password is montclairartmuseum.

In both cases, masks and physical distancing are required per CDC guidelines. Neither restrooms nor drinking fountains are available.

As of Monday afternoon, PSE&G reports that 260 of their 19,258 Montclair customers are without power. They estimate that power will be restored for all by noon, on Tuesday, Aug 11.
