Over 1,800 Montclairians waited in longs lines to get tested for COVID-19 at the Wally Choice Center at Glenfield Park on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 13-15. Both the swab test and antibody test were offered from noon to 7 p.m. each day.

The testing was planned and conducted by the state department of health. The state has been pushing for more testing to collect data on rate of transmission, positivity rate and overall numbers with a goal of at least 20,000 tests conducted daily.

With surges in as many as 22 other states, the lab companies that process the tests nationwide are experiencing backlogs. Where New Jerseyans had been receiving tests results in two to four days, it's now taking five.
