More reports of someone masturbating in Nishuane Park
Montclair Police have received two more reports of someone masturbating in the area of Carey's Woods in Nishuane Park — making for three reports this month.
One caller to Montclair police anonymously reported seeing a male masturbating in the woods on Sunday, Sept. 12. No further description was provided, police said.
Patrol officers canvassed the woods and the surrounding area, but were unable to locate anybody, police said.
The next day, someone contacted the police to report she observed a male in the wooded area masturbating. When the male saw her look at him, he hid behind a tree and she lost sight of him, police said.
The resident, who returned home and contacted the police, described the person as a male, approximately 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet and 11 inches tall, wearing a royal blue short-sleeve crew T-shirt and blue jeans, police said.

Montclair police previously took a report on Monday, Sept. 6 from a woman who'd been walking her dog in the area of Nishuane Park who said she saw an unknown male masturbating in the wooded area. In that case, police said, he was described as approximately 40 years old, 5 feet and 8 inches tall, with a thin build and wearing blue jeans.

VEHICLE THEFTS
Tuesday, Sept. 7 — A resident reported that her 2017 Toyota Rav4 was stolen from in front of her home on Chester Road. She was unsure if she left her key fob in the vehicle, which was recovered parked and unoccupied on Shanley Avenue in Newark the next day. When officers canvassed the area of the woman's home for witnesses or evidence, they found a neighbor who who reported that their vehicle was entered and rummaged through. Nothing was reported taken from that vehicle.
OTHER THEFTS
Thursday, Sept. 9 — A resident reported that her vehicle on Harrison Avenue was entered between Aug. 20 and Aug. 23, and her purse containing her credit cards was stolen. She was notified by one of her card companies that a large purchase was made on Aug. 23, for two iPhones in the amount of $1,567.39. In addition, there were several purchases made to a second credit card totaling approximately $1,900.
Thursday, Sept. 9 — The manager at the CVS on Valley Road reported that she observed a man place several bars and bottles of Dove soap in his pants and exit the store. He was described as approximately 6 feet tall, with a slim build, wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants and gray and neon green sneakers.
Saturday, Sept. 11 — A 2019 BMW X5 was stolen between 10 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 9 a.m. on Sept. 11 from Inwood Avenue. It was last observed parked on the street in front of a home.
Monday, Sept. 13 — A juvenile reported that he was sitting on his bicycle on Bloomfield Avenue when he was struck in the throat by an unknown man who took his bicycle and fled east. The man was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The bicycle was located by patrol officers at an Exxon Gas Station.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
Thursday, Sept. 9 — A woman reported that she observed an unknown person on her home surveillance system walking on her property on Ward Place. He was described as a male, wearing dark clothing and dark shoes.
TERRORISTIC THREATS
Saturday, Sept. 11 — Officers responded to Just Jakes bar on Park Street following a report of a disturbance. An employee of the establishment reported that a patron entered the bar and refused to pay the required cover charge. When he was escorted out of the bar a scuffle ensued, where the patron allegedly asked the employee, “Do you want to get stabbed?” A 22-year-old from West Orange was charged with terroristic threats and weapons possession after police found a knife in his pocket.
