The following activity was reported by Montclair Police Dec. 21 in their weekly blotter:
Thefts and attempted thefts
Wednesday, Dec. 15 — The owner of a 2014 silver Dodge Durango reported that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway Harrison Avenue driveway overnight. The vehicle contained approximately $2,000 worth of mechanics tools. The vehicle was recovered, unoccupied, in Newark on Dec. 16.
Sunday, Dec. 19 — A resident reported that someone entered his 2021 BMW X3 during the overnight hours on Argyle Road. The vehicle was rummaged through and a pair of sunglasses was stolen.
Monday, Dec. 20 — A resident reported that a package that had been delivered to his Greenwood Avenue residence was stolen. An email alert reported the package was delivered at 11:45 a.m. The package contained $75 worth of merchandise.
Monday, Dec. 20 — A resident reported that she parked her 2018 Audi in front of her residence on Clinton Avenue and was in the process of unloading packages from it when she observed an unknown male inside of the vehicle. The male then ran to an awaiting vehicle and fled north on Clinton Avenue at a high rate of speed. The male was described as young, with a thin build, 5 feet and 7 inches tall, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and mask. The fleeing vehicle was only described as a red or maroon sedan.
Driving while intoxicated
Friday, Dec. 17 — A 38-year-old East Orange resident was charged with driving while intoxicated on Valley Road.
Saturday, Dec. 18 — A 53-year-old Montclair resident was charged with driving while intoxicated on Clinton Avenue.
Saturday, Dec. 18 — A 46-year-old Bloomfield resident was charged with driving while intoxicated on Irving Street following a motor vehicle crash.
Monday, Dec. 20 — A 30-year-old Orange resident was charged with driving while intoxicated on Llewellyn Road following a motor vehicle crash.
