Two Montclair probationary police officers were sworn in during a ceremony held Friday, July 26, in the council chambers. Deputy Municipal Clerk Juliet Lee administered the Oath of Office to officers Nicole Muccio and Ivan Oqueli.

Nicole Muccio graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy in January of this year. She received an associate degree in arts and criminal justice from Passaic County Community College, Wanaque, NJ.

Ivan Oqueli graduated from the Public Safety Training Academy in Morristown in May this year. He received his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida, Orlando, F.L.

The probationary officers will undergo a field training program ranging from departmental operations, at-scene criminal investigations, and handling domestic violence incidents, to traffic enforcement and issues of homeland security.
