NJ Storytelling Guild to host virtual workshop on Dec. 5
The New Jersey Storytelling Guild, a Montclair-based organization focused on foster storytelling throughout the state and nurturing new storytellers, is hosting an interactive virtual workshop on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
"Telling Stories to Teach Language Naturally" will feature Piedad Gutierrez, a retired teacher from the Montclair school system and the author of two books on teacher language acquisition. Gutierrez specializes in the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling method, which focuses on teaching naturally, with humor and without rote memorialization.
Guitierrez is a trained historian and an educator. She has been a university professor teaching Latin American history, and a Spanish teacher from third grade through high school.
