Representative Mikie Sherrill will host a NJ Transit Information Session on Wednesday, May 29, at Buzz Aldrin Middle School in Montclair due to the impending commuter changes planned for this summer. Sherrill will be joined by NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett to hear from residents and discuss the upcoming service adjustments this summer on the Montclair-Boonton Line and Morris & Essex Line. The session will take place 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

“Commuting is a fact of life for our residents,” said Sherrill.“It can’t be avoided, and it must be done every day. I want to make sure our commuters have the opportunity to hear directly from NJ TRANSIT about the adjustments this summer and to ask questions. I’m looking forward to hosting Executive Director Corbett and members of our community for this information session next week.”
Beginning June 17 through Sept. 9, NJ Transit will be temporarily diverting select Midtown Direct rail service on the Montclair-Boonton Line in order to accommodate Amtrak repair work that will take two tracks at Penn Station New York out of service.
