Obituary: Ann Goldstein
Ann Goldstein of Montclair, formerly a research scientist and executive at Hoffman-La Roche, died suddenly on Sept. 11, 2021. She was 78.
Mrs. Goldstein was born in Philadelphia in 1943 to Milton and Ida Lunker.
She received a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. from Vassar College and a Ph.D. from New York University, all in microbiology.
She met her husband, Paul, at the University of Pennsylvania, and they married in 1964. She worked for over 20 years at Hoffman-La Roche as a research scientist and then as an executive vice president, retiring in 2004.
Mrs. Goldstein had a worldwide network of friends and colleagues. She enjoyed traveling, walking on the beach, swimming in the ocean and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband enjoyed 35 years as members of Bradford Bath and Tennis Club.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Sydnie Goldstein of Fishkill, New York, and Harriet Newman (John) of Glen Ridge, and four grandchildren, Alex and Andres Vasquez and Jamie and Corey (Claire) Newman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. at The Woman’s Club of Upper Montclair, 200 Cooper Ave. Masks and full vaccinations required.
Mrs. Goldstein was passionate about family and personally involved in the adoption of two of her grandchildren.
